Colorado Springs, Colo. - Maybelle F. Keller, age 96, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2003, in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she had lived for the past 6 years. She was born on May 16, 1907, in Mound City, S.D., to Theodotus (Theo) and Lyda Reed Wosnuk. When she was a child, the family moved to Aberdeen where her Dad was active in banking and real estate during her growing-up years. She attended the University of South Dakota and received her degree from the University of Iowa, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi fraternity. On July 7,1937, she married Dr. Emil Theodore (Ted) Keller in Mitchell, S.D. They moved to Rugby, N.D., in 1941 where Dr. Ted was affiliated with the Johnson Clinic for 30 years. She served as the '51-'52 State President of the North Dakota Medical Auxiliary, founded the Rugby Hospital Auxiliary in 1962 and helped establish the Pioneer Museum. She was preceded in death by Dr. Ted; her parents; two sisters, Alice Nichols and Vivian Bailey; and one son, Dr. Reed Theodore Keller. Survivors include her son, Col. (Ret.) Kenneth F. Keller and his wife, Judy, (Monument, Colo.), Mary Ann Keller-Wakefield and husband Scott (Grand Forks, N.D.), 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Aberdeen at the Wosnuk family lot in Riverside Cemetery. A memorial luncheon in honor of Maybelle will be held in Sioux Falls, S.D., on August 9 for friends and family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church, 183 N. Washington, Monument, CO 80132 or St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D.
