My granddaughter, Melanie, loved her so much and was very reluctant to move up when she aged out. She will be sorely missed.

Maynette's influence and memory are intertwined with not only my life, but the lives of family and friends. She and her siblings were childhood friends of my mother and aunt. Maynette and my cousin, Elizabeth, were roommates at Meredith. Maynette taught French to one of my dearest friends who continues to fondly remember Maynette and Maynette's love of French and ability to instill that love in her students. I shared this with Maynette several years ago. When I think of Maynette, I think of a gracious, kind, caring, and compassionate woman who lived her Christian faith quietly but actively. She had such a sense of love and duty to those in need. I remember her faithful devotion to God through her faithful attendance at the Methodist church where she would often bring children whose parents were not able to bring them. When having the privilege of being with Maynette, she would always ask about you and others. She was encouraging and truly the example of to whom much is given much is required. Maynette was given talents and opportunities as well as a love of Christ, all of which she used generously. She gave of herself and has no idea the influence she has had on others including me. Love and condolences to the family.

Maynette was a special member of the Campbell Law school class of 1981. With just 14 women, we were a small sisterhood of pioneers. She never drew attention to herself, but always had something meaningful to say. Her concern and care for others was evident. Every conversation with her was a treat. She will be missed. My condolences to the family. Elaine Marshall, Secretary of State

A truly lovely person inside and out. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. I had the privilege of working with her from late 1999 till her retirement and will never forget our time together! A really fine attorney - an expert in education law like no other. Better yet - a truly fine person! My sincere sympathy to her family.
