After hosting a a third world family for a number of years, I have seen the challenges our recently arrived immigrants encounter daily. Yet most face them with dignity, diligence, quiet humility, hard work and a great love and appreciation for our country. Medard seemed to exemplify this spirit 100 times over. His death is such a loss for our community, the lives he touched and most importantly his brothers. Our hearts go out to his loved ones. Please know that we grieve alongside you.

I read the article about Medard written by Ruben Rosario last Fall. I remember how he was such a hero, a trooper, had such strength and God by his side. This unfortunate accident brings such sadness but now it is time for Medard to be by God's side, and closer to his parents and other family members.
It will be hard for his remaining siblings but I hope they realize it's now their time to show Medard's strength in such adversity and know that both Medard and God are at their side as well.
God Bless Medard and his family.
