Dear Cheryl,
I hope you will remember me, I am Kyle Estay's Mom. I just learned of Stephanie's death and my heart aches for you. I am in Mississippi taking care of my grandchildren and Amanda just called me with the terrible news. Please know I would have come to her funeral if I had known. Kyle loved Stephanie and I loved her,too. Stephanie was so special and the bond that you and Stephanie shared was very evident from the first time I met you. You were good to Kyle and I could immediately tell you loved your daughter like I loved my son. I remember that you brought her chocolate milk in a sippee cup to her in bed in the morning and I brought Kyle his cereal to eat while he was in the bath. I'm saying this to remind you that Stephanie knew you loved her and that you were a great mother! I try to remember that they are just on loan to us until God calls them home . Please know that you are in my prayers and that you are not alone, others really do care.

I was randomly reading through the obituaries in The Advocate when I read about this tragedy, and am deeply saddened by your loss. I wish there were words to say during times like these. I remember Stephanie as a vibrant, sweet, fun, and beautiful young woman. She was a bridesmaid in me son and daughter-in-law's wedding in March. She and her mom hosted a lovely bridesmaid party for Kelli. From the short amount of time I spent with her, it was clear that Stephanie had a great "head on her shoulders" and a bright future in front of her. And that is why we look at this whole thing as so very tragic. Cheryl and Virgil, and the rest of the family, I will sincerely keep you in my prayers because that is the only way to find some sort of peace and reconcileation to a loss of this magnitude. I work with Jackie Honeycutt and was very upset when she told me of Stephanie's accident. We lost a 24 year old nephew on May 4th due to an automobile accident that was not his fault and my heart bleeds for you. We still cannot see the reason these things happen, but I'm sure God will reveal it to us one day. My prayers are with you and all of your family.
