Melissa Anne Meehan - Vaughan

Melissa Meehan-Vaughan, 65, of Carlsbad, California, passed away peacefully on May 28th, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Port Washington, New York, Melissa was the devoted wife of Jim, her steadfast partner and best friend, with whom she shared a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion. She was the cherished mother of Alex, whom she adored beyond measure and whose life she enriched with endless love, wisdom, and support.

Prior to Alex's birth, Melissa spent 15 years in the Financial Services Industry.

Melissa was a beloved sister to Deirdre and John, with whom she shared deep bonds and countless cherished memories.

Known for her generous heart and vibrant spirit, Melissa brought warmth and light to everyone she met. Her kindness, grace, and gentle strength touched the lives of many. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued-leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 6th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at C.S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 S. Bedford Ave., Bellmore. A burial will follow on Saturday, June 7th, at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, NY. Service time to be announced.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Melissa's love and light will continue to guide and inspire us

" Stairway to Heaven"

In lieu of flowers, Melissa wanted to give people other options. Two charities that she really believed in were Tunnels 2 Towers & West Side German Shepherd Rescue.

You know she was German Shepherd Lover and we have rescued 16+ GSD's over our 38 years together. WSGSR is where we got her beloved Max and just recently our 2 bonded sisters Willow & Sage
