Melissa Joan Roza

Melissa Joan Roza, age 45, passed away surrounded by family on April 15, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on January 16, 1980, in Palo Alto, California, Melissa brought a vibrant energy to the world that touched many lives.

Melissa had a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonder of life. She found joy in the natural world and delighted in its many offerings-especially "plants". Whether hiking through scenic trails, collecting unique rocks, or tending to anyones garden, Melissa embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm and curiosity. Her love for music was equally profound as she was often found rocking out at concerts or attending a music festival. Art and crafting were among her cherished creative outlets, allowing her to express her spirit through shapes and color. A true lover of good food and social gatherings, Melissa thrived in community spaces with friends and family where laughter flowed freely and stories were shared. She marveled over the universe, history and theories surrounding many aspects of life on this planet.

Melissa is survived by her daughter Isis, her son Jonas, mother Christine and stepfather Gary; siblings John, Adrienne, Megan, Molly and many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also remembered by those who knew her as a source of light and connection. Melissa was preceded in death by her father Richard Roza.

Melissa is to be laid to rest at the Weeks family plot at Mt Hope Cemetery in Pescadero, CA.
