Melissa L. (Overstreet) Stetson

Bernardston, MA - Melissa Lynne (Overstreet) Stetson, 53, of Brattleboro Road died Friday 11/25/22 at home. She was born in Virginia Beach, VA on June 27, 1969, the daughter of Michael and Diane (Glazier) Overstreet.

Melissa graduated from Conant High School in Jaffrey, NH in 1987. She graduated cum Laude with a business degree from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1991.

Melissa was a staff accountant for Sinauer Associates.

Melissa was dainty like a f*&%ing flower and loved shiny things and candy. Melissa loved volunteering her time and energy at the Bernardston Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King novels, pepperoni pizza and buying a new bag (never call it a purse!). She enjoyed drinking extra dirty martinis and mimosas with Lisa and Heather, hanging out by the pool and cuddling her beloved dogs. Melissa was always willing to lend an ear to listen. She encouraged, mentored and guided her nieces and Goddaughters through difficult and transitional times. She was a tenacious problem solver. Melissa had an outgoing, social personality (even from infancy) and was witty to the end.

Among her survivors, Melissa leaves her husband of twenty-two years, Marcus Stetson; her mother, Diane Overstreet; a brother, Jason Overstreet and his wife SudiLaura; a nephew, Isaac; a sister in law, Melissa Jane Stetson; nieces, Emily and Clarese Gardiner; Goddaughters, Shana Trahan, Clarese Gardiner and Molly Gouin; two uncles, Peter Glazier and Dana Glazier; three aunts, Susan Pomasko, Karen Overstreet and Darnell Brown; fourteen cousins; and many extended family.

A graveside service will be held Friday 12/2 at 2pm at the Plainview Cemetery in Leverett.

There will be no calling hours.
