Melodi was the first best friend of my wife, cohorts in lots of mischief while growing up, maid of honor at our wedding, dear friend for nearly 50 years. While she will be dearly missed by family and friends here on this earth, because her clear salvation testimony we can rest assured that she is now in her Heavenly home and we will see her once again. Our thoughts, love and prayers are with Uncle Ray and the family. Our peace and confidence in the future rest on Melodi's Savior, Jesus Christ.

I was very saddened to hear that Melody was on that plane. My husband and I were blessed to be friends of the Hodges, first at Miracle Hill Children's Home in Pickens, SC. I pray that the Lord will be very close to the family during this time. I love your family so much.

I´ve been friends with Melodi for a long time. We met at PG Baptist Church. I had the privilege of meeting, worshiping and eating with The Nelons on a cruise with Melodi and her best friend Kim Weatherly. Melodi was always cheerful and kind. I pray for the friends and family and that God´s loving arms wrap them and hold them with comfort and peace.

From the first time I met Melodi, we were instant friends! It didn´t matter how long it had been since we had seen each other or talked, it was as if we had seen each other every day. I remember when I found out she was traveling with the Nelons, I had seen her at NQC and the smile she had that day, was the same one she always had everytime I saw her. She will be greatly missed!
