I just want to say that I never had any of the Ashmore kids at Brill elementary, but I know the whole family are great people. I know the anniversary of Melody’s death is coming up and I want to say that I will be thinking about the Ashmore family. I see Kendall walking his dogs all the time. We lost one of our granddaughters, Zoey Reel, last July so I know the depth of grief Melody’s family has suffered. It’s not easy to carry on, but you do because you love your kids and the rest of the family, and even though your world stopped, the rest of the world didn’t. I just want Kendall and the family to know I am thinking about and praying for them.

I have been friends with you since I was in the 3rd grade and to think I am 52 nowwhich means you are the longest friend I have known. I loved our international trips to Paris & Niagara Falls; and I was so hoping we were going to get more travel trips together. I’m at such a loss and I don’t know how to process you being gone; but I trying to reassure my self that you are watching over me & sticking out your tongue! I would also like to think that you have been reunited with your Mom & Dad. I miss you and love you!

It’s been 50 years unbelievable. Melody and I were friends at Klein in HS our jr. and sr. years. I looked for her at our 10th reunion but she was clearly busy building her life and family. Please know I’m very sorry for your loss and pray you find some measure of comfort. Melody was a great friend at that time in our lives.

It sounds like you had a beautiful and blessed life, Melody. I wish we had gotten the opportunity to know you better.
We know Kendall from (very) early morning Camp Gladiator exercise sessions.
We'll keep an eye on him down here and will be praying for peace and comfort for your family.

At a recent wedding,Melody was intentional in making sure to “re-introduce” herself to me. With a warm hug she thanked me for teaching Rachel at Klein High. She then reminded me that we were fellow Bearkats of 1982. Her genuine joy and gratitude was so refreshing. Rachel, I’m so very sorry for the pain of losing your beautiful mother. I love you.

. No doubt, there will be a lot less laughter in the world now. Melody was such a joy to be around, and I will always cherish the memories of fun times spent with her. I pray God’s comfort on Kendall, the kids, and all those who loved her. She will be missed. ❤

May the love of friends and family carry you through this difficult time. Melody was full of love and laughter. Always could make us laugh and made us feel welcome for meals and good times at the lake house. May she rest peacefully. Praying for the family.

Rachel, this is Stacey Teer I was your kindergarten teacher at Brill Elementary. I just wanted to reach out to you and your sweet family to let them know that you are all in my prayers. I was so sad to hear the news about your wonderful mom. She was always at Brill working and making the school so beautiful! I remember she made me these sweet flower pots at the end of the year that had all the kindergartners handprints on them. They lasted for many years and always brought a smile to my face when I saw those cute little handprints of my first kindergarten class at Brill. May God hold you close and fill your heart with peace during this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Stacey Teer

Rachel, this is Becky Drescher. I was your second grade teacher at Brill Elementary. I was heartbroken to hear about your dear, sweet Mom. I so enjoyed being your teacher and getting to know your Mom, Dad, and brothers. Your Mom was so often up at Brill doing whatever was asked of her always with a smile on her face. I so admired her talent for painting and arts and crafts. I remember you gave me a set of beautiful drinking glasses for Christmas that your Mom hand painted for me. I still have them and will treasure them always! You and your family are in my daily heartfelt prayers. I know your hearts are breaking, but I also know that God mends broken hearts. Much love, Becky Drescher
