Mel was fun to work with--business could always be supplemented with golf and an adult beverage or two. Charlie Borror and I spent many delightful and profitable hours with an unforgettable inidividual.
With appreciation of his 3 loving daughters,

It was so sad to read the obituary of "Uncle" Mel. We became acquainted due to my long term friendship with Helen & Bob Miller at their home in Big Canoe. Mel and I rejoiced in our several conversations about life in the US Army Air Corps. Mel's life and adventures would make an interesting book.

I am happy to say I knew your Dad when he returned to the states in 1986. He opened a small executive suite office in the Dunwoody area and I also rented an office at that location. We became fast friends even with a big age difference. We had many golf games together and a few adult beverages. When I turned 40 he helped keep me at a golf course until the surprise party was ready for my arrival. He was the life of the party.
I know this is a sad moment but I have a smile on my face thinking about Mel. He was a good man who lived a very full life.

Having known and been friends with Mel and Jean since 1952, I feel as if I have lost an irreplaceable part of my life. I will always remember his stories, smiling face and the good times our group had when we lived in Cuba. It will always be a satisfaction to me that we were able to see Mel and Jean several times once we all returned to the "Mother Land."
