Melvin Boyd Obituary
Born January 1, 1930 in Lakeland, Georgia he moved to Babson Park 61 years ago from Lakeland, Georgia. He retired from the maintenance department at Ben Hill Griffin after 25 years. He was a member of the Central Avenue Baptist Church in Lake Wales.
He is predeceased by his wife Quillie L. Boyd, 1988.
Survivors include his daughter Vera Brady, son, J.M. Boyd both of Lake Wales; Sisters, Juanell Blanton of Live Oak and Martha Taylor of Ft. Lauderdale; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Avenue Baptist Church in Lake Wales.
