MELVIN RAMSAY Obituary
Melvin Ramsay, 76, of Gosport, IN passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Melvin attended Heber Elementary School, and graduated from CUHS in 1960 then graduated from San Diego State University, Calexico in 1969. He received his Masters degree from University of San Diego. Melvin served in the US Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He taught elementary school in Brawley, CA for 3 years and El Centro for 30 years. Melvin was a member of First Christian Church of El Centro where he served as a deacon and an elder for many years. He was also a member of Owen Valley Christian Fellowship in Spencer, IN. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Melvon Ramsay and Pearl (Evans) Ramsay Clark; brothers, Bill Ramsay and Kenneth Ramsay. He is survived by his wife, MaryJo (Becker) Ramsay; son, Kyle Ramsay of Indianapolis; daughter, Kori (Chris) Ramsay Wainscott of Gosport, IN; grandchildren, Evan Ramsay, Iain Ramsay of Indianapolis, IN, Ramsay Grace Wainscott, and Mollie Wainscott of Gosport, IN; brothers, Joe (Debra) Ramsay of El Centro, and Michael (Linda) Menifee, CA; sisters, Arlene (Richard) Abbott, Iowa, and Darlene Drawe of Texas, Karen (Jim) Healy of El Centro, CA. Sharon (Robert) Edgar of El Centro, CA. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Valley Christian Church, in El Centro, and will be officiated by John Jones. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Valley Christian Church Building Fund, El Centro or Hilltop Christian Camp, Columbus, IN.

You were such an amazing teacher. I am 36 years old and I remember like it was yesterday sitting in your class waiting for the newspapers to arrive. You then would read and have us read the articles. You are the few teachers I remember from my childhood. You were one of a kind of teacher. RIP Mr. Ramsey

May you Rest In Peace Mr. Ramsey, I am very thankful to you for being a part of my childhood life. Even though we grow up and apart from those childhood years, we always have those great memories in mind. I thank you for you role and guidance that greatly contributed to my lifes accomplishments.
