Melvin Donald Scott, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 16, 1945 in Alamance County.
He was a retired dental lab technician and was the owner and operator of Scott’s Prosthetic. Melvin was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing at the lake and the beach; Halloween was one of his favorite holidays to decorate for and Melvin’s favorite restaurant was the Golden Corral. He loved their food and socializing with the employees and the customers.
Melvin is survived by his daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Walker and significant other, Todd Thornton; a son, Donald “Donnie” Scott and wife Lorie; grandchildren, Corey, Cody and Seth; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Terrell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Irene Wood Butner; his stepfather, Lee Butner;a great grandson; Mason Wiggington, a sister, Ann Davis; a brother, Gary Butner and his best friend, Jerry Bumgarner.
The celebration service will be held at 4:00pm Friday, July 28, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Adam Bellamy. The family will receive friends following the service.
