Dear Elsie and Family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May God surround you as you remember Menno's life. We have good memories of his years as a pastor in Leamington, Ontario.

Dear Elsie, Jillayne and families,

We were saddened to hear of your loss. Our condolences to you and your families. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Menno was a kind and passionate man, whom we loved.

With great sadness, we found and read Menno's obituary on line this evening.

My family attended Foothills from 1973 through 1975, a spiritual home we'll never forget. Menno was a deeply ecumenical pastor whose loving, understanding and thoughtful leadership brought me to an important decision, that of becoming a Mennonite by Choice. I will never forget the Holy Communion service he fashioned for the occasion of joining the Mennonite Church; it had important Anglican underpinnings representing the faith from which I had come.

Menno was many things to humankind. His compassionate, wise and deep relationship with God, God's Son and the Holy Spirit carried indelible influence on many!

May Menno's soul join the sainthood of Heaven and may the memories of a "man to remember" carry you forward, Elsie, as you look for light in the dark days ahead.

Our prayers will always be there for you and your extended family.

Our pastor, friend, and mentor is now in His presence. Menno was such a big part of our family at Foothills Calgary and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We know that God will be your fortress also, in the days ahead. God bless you all.
