Vickie and family,
We extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Merle. We had the privilege of his and your hospitality a couple of years ago for a day of sidexsiding and "show and tell". We were so impressed by his sense of community and selflessness to be a steward of the land and visionary of the future of farming along with your entire family.
Your table of laminated photos at the sugarhouse left us appreciative of your love and devotion for such a humble man. The world has lost a good man, a good farmer and an exceptional sugarmaker as well as the family man we all envy to be. May the sun be on your face the wind at your back and the sap tanks always full for you Merle. Rest in peace my friend!

He was a wonderful uncle and great uncle, so funny, loving, and fun a favorite amongst my boys. We were robbed of many more years with him but will forever cherish the ones we had. Rest In Peace Uncle and Try and Behave!! We Will Love and Miss You Always!!

Merle and Vicky welcomed us into their home and family when we were new town. Many card nights, dinners and family times at the house and the sugar house. RIP Merle You fought hard.
