I was so sorry to learn of your dear wife's passing. Billy, it was only three years ago that you came to visit me, my sister and brother on our Mother's passing. And here I am now writing to you. Our Mom, Helen , always spoke so highly of your Mia. She enjoyed her talks on the phone with her. Billy, , we hope you are keeping in as good health as you can, and know you take comfort in your sons. My sympathies to you, dear friend from long ago, and you be well.
Sincerely, Myrna Gameroff Schwartz

Betty and I are so,so deeply saddened. It seems so so recent, that we met because of your Brandy(who we still believe was the smartest Golden Retriever ever) and our Kadoomp. Our oldest children were born within a few months of each other and we all had such wonderful times together. We know how your world is dimmed now,but we hope you get comfort in having had Mia in that world.

Our deep sympathy to Bill and the entire family. Mia was an outgoing,warm-hearted,intelligent woman--friendly with everyone but unafraid to speak her mind on what she believed was right.
She will be missed by all and especially by the Lac Renaud neigbours who admired and respected her.
Sincerely, Saul and Rose Rose

My memories were reawakened this morning when I read of Mia's untimely passing. I was one of the carpool girls when we drove to MacDonald Teachers' College that winter of '61. Though we had never met before, we decided that 3 girls with our last names beginning with A or B should join together. Since classes were assigned by surname, we could take off early never having to wait for the girls whose names ended in the last letters of the alphabet! This worked great and we all travelled in Mia's Volkswagon belting out folksongs of the 60's at the tops of our lungs all the way there and back. That winter the temperature never rose above -20 degrees F. for 6 weeks.. We sang to keep from freezing and took turns leaving our lectures to start the car to make sure it would take us home! Our favorite song (especially Mia's) was "King of the Road". Whenever I bumped into her over the years, we would immediately break in to "King of the Road". Though we were never close friends, she was a wonderful person and we shared special memories. My deepest sympathy to all in the family.

Sincerely,
Ellen Barnett Shalinsky
