So very sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. It was a privilege to work with him at Cook/Baxter. I enjoyed hearing his stories and learning from him. Prayers for all of you.

Midge, I am so sorry for you and your family´s loss but we know Mike is in the arms of Jesus! He will be missed!

Mike was such an exemplary example of how to lead a Christ-centered life. Such a brilliant mind and a kind soul to all who encountered him. Mike was a beloved colleague who allowed me the privilege to teach Pharmaceutical Science side by side with him across the US and Europe. Truly one of the highlights of my career and life was knowing Mike. Prayers for all as you navigate your paths forward.

I worked with Mike during the Cook/Baxter days. Mike encouraged me to push myself and grow. He built up his team and made their success his priority. Mike was a mentor and a friend. His witness for Christ was just a part of who he was. I wish comfort and peace to the family. Mike will be greatly missed.

Some day medicine will allow the mind to continue supporting a body deserving of continuance . Mike´s life was certainly in that category. The contributions to our lives both scientifically and emotionally are clear evidence of that conclusion.

Mike Akers was a beloved fraternity brother who led an EXEMPLARY life as an academic scholar in his field but more importantly as a Christian sharing his faith. He loved his family but also the many, many people who were lucky enough to have had him in our lives. We were truly blessed to have known him. Prayers for Midge and his family.
