Having moved away from Coventry 8 years ago I am so sorry to have only recently learnt of your loss. He was my Orthopaedic Consultant for many, many years.
Mr John Aldridge FRCS, a brilliant dedicated surgeon whose unique, classless approach was a special quality and gift that cannot be taught. No matter how challenging, defiant and often cross I could become, never once did he become cross with me.(He, sometimes would pretend to be cross with me but he never was). All surgeons have dedication and skill to heal you as best they can, but it takes that additional element of, 'Star Quality' to turn tears of pain into absolute, tears of laughter and that is what made him 'one of a kind' and placed him up there at the 'top' in an elite class all of his very own. God bless you and thank you.

My time working as a Radiographer at the Warwickshire Private Hospital, latterly the Nuffield, gave me the opportunity to work with the kindest, most considerate, talented & humerous Consultant I have ever known.
I was saddened to hear of his death - he must be sorely missed by you all.
