It´s been a few months since Mike´s passing, but he keeps crossing my mind, so I decided I would like to add my thoughts here.
Mike was and will forever be my Dad´s (Hal Jeffs) best friend. Because of that friendship, our family enjoyed his company here and there over the years. Whenever Dad had a big project at home, anything from adding a garage, shingling a roof or extensive concrete work, Mike was there lending a hand. We would also see him before and after their hunting and fishing trips. This was how I got to know Mike and came to know what a trusted friendship looked like. I always enjoyed his and my Dad´s interactions. Those times were my first lessons on the art of sarcasm. And boy, could Mike dish it out to Dad. He was a good sport at taking it too.
A few years ago, Dad and Mom decided to go to a Beach Boys concert in Logan. Knowing that Mike was an avid fan, they invited him to join, then I was invited. We joked that I was Mike´s date. What a great night! It was so fun to watch Mike, watching The Beach Boys. He sang along, danced, and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
These days, I work as the activity director at a Nursing Home. In our activities, we play a lot of 50´s and 60´s music, which includes a good share of The Beach Boys. Every time I hear one of their songs I think of Mike and smile.
Remembering him fondly,
Julie (Jeffs) Mattson

Our deepest sympathy and prayers for your family. Mike was a great friend and cousin. He will be greatly missed. We came to the service from Idaho. The stories and memories shared by his children, grandchildren, family and friends were an amazing tribute to his life and legacy. It was a beautiful service. He will be missed by all that knew him!
