Michael Bacino Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2024.
Michael William Bacino, 49, most recently of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away at home on April 24, 2024.

Michael was born on June 19, 1974, to his loving and proud parents, Carl and Barbara Bacino, in Phoenix, Arizona. At three months old, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they lived until he was 12. In 1986, the family relocated again, this time to The Woodlands, Texas. He attended Knox Junior High and was a member of the 1992 graduating class at McCullough High School. Michael was on the Highlander baseball and basketball teams, where he loved to compete and play alongside his teammates and friends.

Michael attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. His career spanned 25+ years in the mortgage business, where he held various positions and managed teams in Arizona, Texas, California, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Michael created a longtime home for his family in Irvine, California. He loved spending time at the beach with his children, teaching them how to surf, boogie board, skateboard, and ride their bikes by the ocean. Some of his favorite times were spent playing sports in the sand, watching waves at The Wedge, and enjoying family meals by the water.

Michael was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Bacino, and his maternal and paternal grandparents, William and Ramona Baughman and Carrie and Joe Bacino, respectively. Michael is survived by his mother, Barbara Baughman Bacino; children Calissa Bacino and William Bacino, their mother and his wife, Amanda Pierce Bacino; sisters Kelly and Steve Tenery, Tammie and Dan Saucedo, and Carlene and Mitch Steinberg and their families.

Mike was an avid sports participant and fan. He enjoyed time golfing with his father, family, and friends in tournaments such as the Italian Invitational in Pueblo, Colorado. He especially loved coaching his son Will's baseball travel teams with his friend, Sergio, taking after his dad, Carl, who led his All-Star team to the Little League playoffs in San Bernardino, California.

Fishing was also one of Michael's favorite pastimes growing up. Throughout his life, he fished whenever he could. He shared his love of this hobby with his kids, nieces, and nephews, teaching them to bait their hooks and sitting with them for hours outside, by the same lake where he first fished as a little boy at his grandma's house. He had a fishing bucket list and was able to accomplish and check off many items, the most memorable being catching a marlin in Cabo San Lucas.

Mike was a man everyone wanted to be around because of his magnetic personality and the way he made you feel like you were the only person in the room. He was genuinely interested in getting to know you. Mike never met a stranger, a trait he inherited from both of his parents. Mike was so much fun to be around and was a practical joker. He was also known to be perpetually late for every family event! The joke in the family was to tell him the event started three hours earlier than he needed to be there, and then we crossed our fingers that he would be on time - a trait that he passed on to his children!

He was loved by family and friends, who shared that knowing him made them better people. Michael will be incredibly missed, and his legacy will live on through all those who knew him.

My dear brother is gone and I feel a little more empty than I did when alive. I now know that you do not have to be in the presence of someone constantly to feel love, kinship, and extreme loss. The point of life is becoming who you are having discovered what that is (Pindar,1852). Michael“s road to discovery was way too short, and I miss him and am saddened that I will not see the other iterations of him as he continued on his journey. I am thankful for the memories of him and the images of him stamped in my mind that can never be taken away. With Love, Carlene

His laugh was always memorable.
My best memory should be best kept to Michael and myself. Each time Michael and I got together it was always an adventure. Thank you Amanda, Cali, Will and family for letting us enjoy the time he gave his friends. He will be missed.

I did not know Michael. But, reading about him and knowing Kelly and his parents, I know that he was a wonderful person. I am so sorry for your loss and praying for peace for Barbara, children, and all who loved him.
