Michael BAILEY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 17, 2022.
1964 - 2022
Michael James Bailey born June 8, 1964 passed away after a brief illness at the Joseph Brant Hospital on December 13, 2022 with his sister and former therapeutic worker Vicki by his side. Cherished son of Linda Bailey and predeceased father Kenneth Bailey. Beloved brother of Scott and Ann (Bob). Sweet uncle to Sydney (Henry) and James (Savannah). Great uncle to Aria, his colouring buddy. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was a kind and gentle soul. A friendly handshake for everyone he met. He loved all things in nature and could tell you the names of them all. He was always on the hunt for fossils and would bring home various wildlife and then would release them. He had many books on everything, especially dinosaurs. He also had a great passion for steam trains. His favourite past time was sketching and in earlier years he could draw as well as Robert Bateman. Mike had lots of support in his life's journey. Cared for by his mother for many years with the aid of the Halton Work Program & PACT. He then transitioned to the Bethany Residence in Burlington and was cared for and loved by all, especially Patti, Chris and Natasha. He loved everyone there and considered them all family, especially his roommate Brian. Jackson Therapeutic Services were an amazing team, making sure Mike was out in nature as much as possible or off to the library. Mike loved spending time with Vicki, Meaghan and Alice, especially if they went for a Timmies. He loved to visit the Burlington Animal Shelter and would often donate his birthday money to them. Thank you to all who made Mike's life so special. Thank you to the palliative team at Joseph Brant, especially nurse Maria. A small service has been held and Mike will be interred at a later date. Donations to the Burlington Humane Society in lieu of flowers would be what Mike would have wanted. Online condolences and shared memories may be left for the family at www.mckersie-kocher.ca
