MICHAEL BARLAS Obituary
Born in Homestead, raised in Rankin, Mike passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Lititz, PA, where he resided. He is survived by his wife, Joan A. (Aul) Barlas, of Lititz, to whom he was married for 46 loving years; two daughters, Margaret E. Barlas, MS, of St. Petersburg, FL, Frances M. Barlas, Ph.D., of Manassas, VA; a son, Michael E. Barlas, MBA, his wife, Emily (Savard) Barlas, MA, their son, Michael Blake Barlas, of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Margaret A. (Barlas) married to James Kocis, of Pittsburgh; along with many nieces and nephews. He graduated from St. Anselm High, Swissvale, in 1961 and received an Associate's Degree in Marketing from Robert Morris Junior College in 1963. Family and friends will be received at the SPACHT - SNYDER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Lititz, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Lititz, PA. Interment with military honors will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery privately and at the convenience of the family. Please pray for peace in this world. To all of Mike's family,
I was a classmate of Mike's at St. Anselm and thought highly of him. We all enjoyed his company, especially at our Reunions. I was so pleased to read all he accomplished and all his children did as well. It is much too young for all of you to lose him.
