Michael Reed Bedard

Michael Reed Bedard June 4, 1956 - Dec. 7, 2010 Resident of San Leandro Michael left us suddenly on December 7, 2010 at the age of 54. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew & uncle as well as a great friend to all who knew him. Michael was born a fourth generation San Franciscan on June 4, 1956. He graduated in 1974 from Canyon High School in Castro Valley, CA, settled with his family in the East Bay area and, as a member of the Brick Layers Local #3, had a successful, 20+ year career as a journeymen mason. Preceded in death by his cherished brother E. Lugar III, Michael is survived by his beloved wife & best friend Judy, his adored children Sean (Katie Marie) & Katie and his loving family that includes parents E. Lugar Bedard Jr. (Dagmar) & Avis Reed Bedard, sister Edith (Steve) Osborne, brother Neal, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews. Being with family and friends, riding motor cycles, reading a book fireside, puttering around the house or cabin, hanging out on Lake Erie and watching his favorite movies were some of the things that brought the most joy to Michael. He touched the hearts of many as he traveled through life and did so with great humility, love, generosity and humor. Seeing the twinkle in his eyes and hearing him say "don't mind if I do" will be with us forever. Happy trails gentle man! A remembrance and celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010, from 1pm to 4pm, at Five Canyons Recreation Center, 5150 Recreation Road, Castro Valley, CA 94552.
