MICHAEL BOHONEK Obituary
MICHAEL
Of South Park, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, age 94, husband of the late Edith (Giovane); beloved father of Richard (Denise), Michele Myers (the late Michael), Gregory (Theresa) and Carol (David) Rowlands; brother of William "Butch" (Deloris) Bohonek and the late Nicholas Bohonek, Anna Poniatowski and Catherine Drapala; and beloved Pap to Natalie, Colleen, Brandon, Jeff, Sean, Brett, Mike, Jenna, Bridget, Matthew; and seven great-grandchildren. Michael served honorably as a U. S. Army Staff Sergeant during WWII, earning a Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat during the Normandy Invasion, France 1944. Michael also served in four other major campaigns, including the Ardennes and the Rhineland. Michael began working for Westinghouse in 1940 while still attending high school at Connelly Tech. He retired from Westinghouse in 1984 after working on various nuclear systems. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DAVID J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 22, 2017, at noon in St. Valentine Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VFW Washington Office, 200 Maryland Ave., N.E., Washington D.C. 20002

Did not know your father, but did go to grade school at St. Joan of Arc with Richard Bohonek, some 60 yrs ago. Prayers for you, Richard and your family.

Michael,
You were a wonderful resident and it was an honor to serve you. It was also an honor to serve that full glass of milk every night I worked, and your polite attitude and manner was representative of an area you can from that is sadly dying and disappearing. Thank you for your service to this nation. Myself being a history buff, I wish we could've talked about your experiences, but sadly, it was not meant. Rest easy Sir.

Uncle Mike, you were the most kindest, polite & precious man a niece could ever have. Our condolences to Richard, Michele, Gregory & Carol & there families. May God bless you and go and join Aunt Edith and the rest of the family. Say hello and tell them we miss them so much.... Flowers Ave on Sundays were the best and we had the best time with the greatest family ever...
