The world felt a little colder as Mike Brown took his last breath in the loving arms of his wife Donna and daughters, Stephanie and Jaclyn at the age of 58. With a circle of family around his bed, his room at the Rockyview was filled with incredible love as Mike peacefully passed away. "Mikey" and "Brownie" was known for his contagious energy, jovial demeanor and passion for football. He spent many years as a referee and played for the Calgary Colts as a young man. When not in the garage fixing cars, you could find Mike cheering on his nephews' hockey games, watching the Stamps play or walking his two dogs. Mike recently retired after 35 years from Telus as a Network Planning Manager to start his consulting business, Stone House Communications. He was an instant friend to everyone he met and will be fondly remembered as a fun loving uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law, brother, husband and most importantly Dad. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust – Rockyview General Hospital, Intensive Care Unit, Suite 800, 11012 MacLeod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5, Telephone: (403) 943-0615, www.thetrust.ca. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of MPW Brown, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I really don't know what to say Donna, and to your children, he was one of the finest men I have known, and a great friend. I am stunned and devastated here today. I am coming to Calgary tomorrow and wanted to look him up and found this on the internet today. May god bless him and his family.

A classmate told me of Michael's passing. My sincere sympathy to his family. The words in his obituary made me smile as I remember Michael as early as elementary school. Glad to know he kept his passion for sports. I have attached a photo of Michael when he played for the Saints in High School. It was a great day. Cheers in heaven Michael. So sorry to hear this news. I had the privilege of working with Mike when he started with AGT and we then realized that we grew up 1/2 a block from each other and I'd see him pass my house everyday on his way to school.

It is with great sadness that mike has passed. I have so many fond memories of mike working local football games together, we always referred to each-other as brother brown. He was a great mentor, friend, teammate as well as husband and father to his girls.
