Michael Courtney Brown

Michael C. Brown, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous decade-long battle with cancer.

Born in Boston on May 26, 1960, to Edmund and Dorothy (LaVoie) Brown, Michael was the eldest of five siblings. He grew up embracing New England's seasons-playing hockey on frozen ponds in winter and spending summers exploring the waters of Cape Cod with family and friends. He loved boating, water skiing and later cherished camping trips with his wife, Linda, their golden retriever, Thumper, and friends on Washburn Island.

A proud professional, Michael began his career in logistics before moving into trucking and becoming an owner-operator. He took immense pride in his work, earning respect for his dedication, reliability, loyalty, and service.

His passion for the road extended to his classic car, a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500, which he lovingly restored over the years. Whether sourcing rare parts, polishing its finish, or cruising through town, he reveled in sharing stories of his classic car with fellow enthusiasts.

Even amid his health struggles, Michael's determination never wavered. He twice completed the Pan-Mass Challenge, cycling from Bourne to Provincetown to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute-a reflection of his determination and hope for a cure.

Above all, Michael treasured his family. He and Linda shared 42 beautiful years of marriage, raising two sons who embody his integrity, kindness, and devotion to others. His legacy lives on through his two sons Michael Jr. and wife Lindsey of Westport, CT; Zachary of Denver, CO; and his adored grandchildren, Ella, Isabelle, and Owen. Michael also leaves behind four siblings Pamela Pare and her husband Michel, Christopher Brown and his wife Gloria, Edmund Brown Jr., and Patricia Turk and her husband Joseph.

A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held on Saturday, July 26th between the hours of 1PM to 4PM at Brignole Vineyards 103 Hartford Ave, East Granby, CT 06026. Light refreshments, including wine, beer, and other beverages, will be available as we celebrate Michael's life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
