My deepest sympathy to Joyce and family.
I served with Mike several years while with the 382ne MASH. He and I went POV to several summer camps, and I always enjoyed our conversations to and from camp.
I remember one time after 911 had hit. I was reading a magazine and it singled out several persons and the fine jobs they were doing. It mentioned a Michael Buffalo, from Texas and the fine job he was doing treating the burn patients.
That evening I gave him a call, told him that he was getting pretty famous and how I read about him in a magazine. He laughed and we talked for several hours. Mike was always dedicated to whatever job he was working on, and he always gave 100%.
Michael was a good family man, a good soldier and a good friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Our deepest sympathy to Joyce and family. Mike was a great person to work with and I felt that the 382nd lost a huge asset when he moved to Texas. However, I knew he was really looking forward to his new position and certainly Erie's loss was UT's gain. It was a honor to have known him.

I served with Michael for a number of years in the 382nd MASH located in Erie, PA. Michael was an outstanding leader while serving as a NCO, and upon completion of nursing school, became a commissioned officer. We served as junior officers and were involved in training and leading a new way in the nursing corp. I was disappointed to see him and the family move to Texas, but like all things that Michael did, he excelled in all of it. I offer my humblest condolences for Michael's passing, and wish for strength and solitude for you, Joyce, and your family.

Joyce, Michael, and Sara,
I had the privilege of serving in the 382nd MASH with Mike. He was a dedicated soldier, a caring and compassionate man. Mike never let the grass grow under his feet, always ready to start the next adventure. My sincere sympathy on your loss. May Mike rest in eternal peace after a full life of service to his country and mankind.
Sincerely,
Betty Flaherty
