Michael Patrick Carbone passed away on December 24, 2023 after a seven year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was 81 years old. Always a kind and loving son, husband, father and friend, his last years were blessed with the same grace.

Mike was born in Oakland to Patrick (Pat) and Mary (Molly) Carbone on September 5, 1942. His sister, Kathleen (Kathy), lives in Cottage Grove, Oregon.

Mike and Gerry were married for 56 years, having met when Mike was at USF School of Law. Together they raised three children, Christina Carbone Evans (Andrew), Robert Carbone (Ingrid) and Andrew Carbone (Michael Calabrese). Mike and Gerry welcomed four grandchildren, Patrick and Ryan Evans and Heath and Claire Carbone. Mike's children and grandchildren were the delight of his life.

Mike graduated from St. Louis Bertrand Grammar School, attended St. Joseph Seminary and graduated in 1960 from Bishop O'Dowd High School. He went on to USF and USF School of Law, graduating with a joint degree in 1966. At law school he was a member of Moot Court, Law Review and McAuliffe Honor Society.

After law school Mike clerked for Justice Preston Devine, a man he respected and admired throughout his career. He joined a small law firm, Lamson, Jordan, Walsh and Lawrence which eventually became Jordan, Walsh, Dawson, and Carbone. Later he joined firms in San Francisco and Oakland.

Mike was a member of the California State Bar Association for over 50 years, practicing in many areas of Civil Law but mainly in commercial real estate, ultimately working as an arbitrator and mediator. He was the founder of the Mediation Society and a member of many other professional organizations.

Mike and Gerry enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe, summer vacations in Oregon, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii. Mike enjoyed playing golf, skiing and staying fit. He loved sports, especially the Oakland A's and the Golden State Warriors.

A Memorial Mass will be held on August 3, 2024 at 11 o'clock at Corpus Christi Church, Piedmont, California. Parking is available in the school yard.

Our families shared many happy times together at each of our houses. Holidays like Easter had us all watching the kids hunt for Easter eggs and Super Bowl parties never failed to bring us together for football, food and wine! We have these precious memories of Mike enjoying it all.
