Mr. Chorba was a truly remarkable person. As a Throop High student in 1965, I approached him about using his crane to erect my amateur backyard science fair project. He and his crane crew spent a Saturday afternoon at the task and refused to accept any of my paper route earnings to help defray the cost. With his help, the project went on to win several awards.

We met on occasion over the decades since, and I never failed to remind him of his unforgotten generosity.

Mike, Linda, Maryann, Michael & Matthew; Very sorry for your loss. I met Mike while working at the bank years ago and gave him some financial advice. I also worked with his good buddy (John Roche) who shared many stories with me. They don't build them like this anymore. My Dad passed a year and a half ago, he too was a Marine. I know the hurt. God Bless Dad and your entire family.

I am truly devastated...this man was my neighbor, my friend and a genuinely kind and loving soul. I cannot picture life on our street without him. He always had a smile for me no matter what. I will miss you, my friend, and love you always.
