Michael Allan Christensen, the son of Donald H. and Lillian K. (Ernst) Christensen, was born April 21, 1956. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1974 and Ellsworth Community College in 1976. Mike was very active in Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He learned a love for the outdoors and all of God's creation and creatures. His special place on earth was the Bighorn Mountains. He loved backpacking, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Mike farmed from the time of his college graduation until his death. He especially enjoyed working with animals, particularly his goats this past year. He also loved woodworking and created some beautiful pieces. Mike passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 59. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Donald. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Christensen of Eagle Grove; four children, Randilynn (Doug) Little of Woodbury, MN, Logan (Kaylee) Christensen of Eagle Grove, Summer Christensen of Fort Dodge and Patience Christensen of Eagle Grove; stepdaughters, Jackie (Travis) Abernathy of Mason City and Mariah MacEldoon of Mason City; mother, Lillian Christensen of Eagle Grove; brothers, Richard (Jessica) Christensen of Eagle Grove, Gary (Paula) Christensen of Cottage Grove, MN; sister, Lisa (Brad) Johnson of Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Landon and Laina; step grandchildren, Brooke, Amber and JoJo and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove (615 SW 2nd Street) with a prayer service and a time of sharing at 4:00 P.M.
