Michael Ciancaglini Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2016.
CIANCAGLINI, MICHAEL A., 86, entered into eternal life October 2, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Noreen A. (Testa) Ciancaglini. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Igino and Maria (Campellone) Ciancaglini. Michael was the devoted and loving father of Deborah A. Brown, Donna L. DiGregorio and her husband John, and Doreen M. Ciancaglini. He was the beloved grandfather of Dina M. DiGregorio, Elisabeth D., Jordan G. and Michael L. Brown. He was the brother of Olga A. DeLuca, the brother-in-law of Frances Ciancaglini and brother of the late Albert R. Ciancaglini. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Michael was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving his country during the Korean War. He left the service to marry the love of his life, Noreen. Together with his wife, he founded Michael Florist, Ltd. in 1957. With his love for flowers and people, his dream blossomed and still thrives today. Michael was the happiest when he was with his loved ones. Traveling to Florida where he spent many winters and attending his class reunions and dinners with his high school friends later in life. He loved music and more often than not, when you walked into his home, you would hear the sounds of Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. He also had a special love for his grand dogs Teddy, Lily, Sal, and Gracie. Michael had a smile that was contagious and a personality that was extraordinary. He was loved by everyone and will live on in our hearts, and in the hearts of all who knew him, forever. Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Friday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Graveside burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. pontarellimarinofunerals.com.

Mr. Ciacaglini,
A perfect gentleman, I would see him when I took my children to the pediatrician, his daughter Dr. Doreen. He was so kind and friendly, it was an honor to be in his company. I met Michael while he was a patient at Hallworth House. He was such a sweet guy, one of my favorites. He spoke so much about his wife and how he missed her. To his family, I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm so happy he is reunited with his beloved Noreen. With deepest sympathy for a lovely man.

Dear Donna and Family:

Words cannot express the sadness I feel for the loss of your dad. Mike was always one of my dad's favorite friends. The kindness, generosity and overall compassion he had for everyone was very evident on how he treated family and friends. I will always cherish the many conversations we had at the flower shop regarding my dad and the many events in the town. God bless mike and his family during this very difficult time.
