I know it´s been many years since Mike´s passing but I was going through old memories and searching for past friends online. I worked with Mike at the movie theater along with other Mt Carmel students (such as myself) at south dekalb mall. He had what I joked with him about his Knight Rider car and he´d coming zooming into mall lot for shift. He was two years ahead of me and just graduated when I came to Mt Carmel my junior year after my own father passing unexpectedly while working as a delta pilot. He was so nice and respectful that he was kind enough to escort me to my junior and senior prom .I trusted him.. plus I looked at him as that cool older guy in the school I wasn´t close to many in. He was a good person and knew I was fresh with grief from my own loss and just wanted me to enjoy the school function. Something I think is funny and endearing now is he even got me my first beer with his contact at a local store near where we lived. In short, Mike was a kind hearted person and I´m truly sorry he left so soon. I can only imagine how great of a family man he was if he was anything like he acted with me. In any event, I felt the need to share even so many years since accident.

Dear Clifton Family: Robert, Juanita, & Carolyn: I can't believe it has been 15 years since Michael's tragic motorcycle incident. Michael was more than a friend, he was the little brother I never had. As you know I had three older brothers, Tommy, Mike, and Larry. We were not only neighbors in two neighborhoods, we were next door neighbors in those two neighborhoods after moving about 10 miles away to Wesley Chapel Rd. from Gresham Park. He was a special young man and I think of him often. It breaks my heart that he lost his life so young. Thinking of your family on the anniversary of Michael's death. Robert: Mike tells me that he saw you at a car show a few months back. I still remember the green 68/69 Camaro you bought new when your family was working at GM.

My sincerest sympathies to the Clifton family in this time of need. Mike was a good friend in school at Mt. Carmel and when I think of those years he always pops into my head. He was humorous, well-loved, and always brought life into the room with him. He always had something funny to say, sometimes corny, but usually pretty funny. We had a lot of good times in school and I will always treasure the times we shared together.

My sincere sympathy to Mrs. Clifton and Mike's family. Mike and I shared lots of good times throughout our little league baseball and high school years. The thing I liked most about Clifton is he was always about having fun and being funny while having it. Peace and Love. SAM

Dear Juanita, Robert and Carolyn Clifton:
Michael was always like the little brother that I never had. We were next door neighbors in two different neighborhoods and I loved him like a brother. I have many fond memories of Michael since he was a very little boy: from calling my parents Miss Mary and Mr. Tom, running to our house to raid the cookie jar and teaching him how to play baseball. He was a wonderful person and I loved him dearly. My regrets that I will not be able to attend the funeral.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Collins

My condolences to the Clifton family. Although I have not really seen Mike since High School, he will always have a place in my heart.
