Dear Judy & Family - I just learned of Mike's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. You will remember that Mike and I worked together in Calgary. I recall when Mike and you first met, and it was love at first sight, and I know over the years when Mike and I ran into each other, he always had that same sparkle and love for you! I know the days ahead will be difficult, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I remember Mike fondly. He was head of the CDT when I was a CET supervisor in the United States. His personal touch led to many cooperative cross border programs. Our two teams developed close friendships which last to this day. Mike was the type of man who fostered friendship and loyalty. I will miss him God speed to heaven

Mike was my Manager in Niagara Falls in the late 80’s. I again had the pleasure of working with him occasionally, over the last 16 years, while he worked in Ottawa in the field of Intelligence Analysis. He was passionate about his work, faced challenges head on, and took great pride in standing up for what he believed in. This is what I valued most about Mike, and I, along with my colleagues will miss him dearly. Mike was very influential in the direction and path of my own career, and I am thankful to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days to come.

To Judy and the Crichton family, it was with surprise and sadness that I learned of Mike's passing. Please accept my sincere condolance for your lost.
Mike hired me as a Customs Inpector back in 1983 at the port of St Stephen N.B.and then in 1984 as a member of the Customs Drug Team for N.B.& P.E.I.(1984-1986)
During this time Mike was a mentor to me and became my friend. He was a good person that was always generous with his time and advice.
For Terry, Teresa and myself,we will always have great memories and stories about our time working for Mike with the C.D.T.
When Mike left Halifax in 1986, he made sure that we all had new assignments of work that we wanted.
Mike will be missed and I will always keep good memories of him in my heart.
Again, Judy and Family, please accept my sincere sympathies for your lost.

Dear Judy. I am still shocked after hearing about Mike. I've known you both since our Niagara days and our friendship was always important, even though I didn't see you often. My heart goes out to you and your families. The world has lost a great man.

Judy: It was with shock and sadness that I read of Mike's death last week. Mike hired me as a Supt back in 1979. I went on to work for Mike at the Calgary Airport in '79 and '80. I kept in touch with Mike over the years and I looked forward to our always enjoyable discussion on all topics dealing with enforcement. Mike had quite an impact on me and my career. We didn't always see things the same way, but I respected his views and was always impressed with his determination and perseverance/persistence. Like me he had a stubborn streak, but once one got that, he was a pleasure to deal with. Dana and I hope you find peace during this difficult time. Mike helped many of us achieve our aspirations. We'll miss him too.

Mr Crichton helped me first get a job on Customs 23 years ago. I never worked closely with him but I do know that he was extremely helpful. I have heard of him through the years, in new position announcements and enforcement initiatives and I have always held him in high regard.
My thoughts are with the family at this sad time. I hope it comforts you to know you loved a fine and worthy person.

Why do the good die young? Mike was one of the happiest people that I have ever met. He had a great self-deprecating humour, was passionate about what he did, and did it extremely well. It was an honour to know Mike, one of the smartest, most dedicated and open-minded public servants I have ever met. To his family, please accept my deepest sympathy for your huge loss.

Mike's wit and wisdom will be dearly missed around our office. He was the ultimate source of knowledge for many of us. His passing creates an immense void but his contribution to the intelligence program will carry forward. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Judy,
it was with great shock and sadness that we learned of Michael's sudden passing. Mike and I had a lot of fun in Halifax starting up the drug team and we worked hard with little success for a while. He was a good boss and from time to time we would catch up when I was in Ottawa on business.
I will always remember how he would let his coffee get cold and still drink it.
Debbie and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to you and your family

Mike this is your last voyage and it will be a great one.
The pearly gates were opened.
A gentle voice said "Come,"
And with farewells unspoken,
He gently entered home.
