I just learned of this from one of our long time Amoco friends. Mike took on any challenge successfully and took the district to new performance levels, always meeting the needs of the team and business. He made me laugh, smile, and earned my deepest respect, trust, and gratitude. Thanks for all you did for all of us.

The day Mike died was truly the saddest day of my life. He was my beloved brother, the absolute best. He was devoted to his family, his friends, and his career with BP oil. He made an impression on everyone he knew, and met. He had a positive approach conducting business, exceptional work ethics, with the utmost integrity for the benefit of his employees, and company whom he worked for over 30 years. He was an asset to BP oil, and I know he will be sadly missed. I texted Mike Thanksgiving Day....to wish him and Loran , Cole, and Cameron a Happy Thanksgiving. He texted back wishing me the same. I texted back "You are the Best", not knowing that would be my last time I would communicate with him. I loved Mike dearly, I will miss him forever. My prayers to Loran, the greatest sister-in-law ever, Cole, and Cameron whom I adore. God Bless.

I spoke with Mike just few times. He was always very funny and kind; surely he will be missed around here. My prayers are with his family and friends. May God give you the strength to go through this difficult time.

All Mike's friends and colleagues are devastated at his passing and the Houston office just seems that bit more subdued without Mike doing his rounds and greeting everybody with a smile.
We used to meet up occasionally at Big John's Icehouse for a few ( sometimes more than a few ) drinks and generally have a laugh and share stories. All Mike's stories inevitably included his wife and family who he adored.
My liver is probably a bit relieved at Mike's passing but my heart is broken.
I have worked in Oil & Gas all over the world since 1978 and Mike was without doubt the most genuine person I have met, he was the real deal.
Mike didn't care who you were or who you thought you were, he treated everybody with respect.
I will miss him terribly and my thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

Mike was a friend and co-worker. He was very intelligent and an excellent technician when we worked together back in the 1980's. I regret we didn't get to meet for lunch as we had planned just a month before he passed.
May God bless the eternal soul of Mike Cunningham and our prayers and blessings are with his family. He will be missed.

I didn't interface and work with Mike on a daily basis as others. But when I did it was truly a pleasure. It didn't matter if the discussion was around good news or not so good news, Mike's attitude was always positive. A good take-away, and something to always remember. Look for the positive.

I didn't know Mike that long but he was the kind of man who made you feel like you had been his closest friend forever and always his "favorite". I valued the relationship with him personally and most certainly professionally as his support was invaluable. To say he will be missed just doesn't quite cover it but he most certainly will be. My sincere condolences to his family for whom his love was constantly on display.

To Loran and Family, Mike was a good friend and we used to spend much time together golfing, hanging out talking about growing up in Indiana and Michigan. As we drifted apart from life events and from work. I occasionally found myself thinking of him from time to time and wondered where his work had taken him. Mike never met a person he didn't like and was a man of many talents. He would do anything to help anyone out, anytime. I have not met his children but if they are half the man Mike was they must be awesome. My thoughts and prayers go out to Loran and family.

I learned a lot from Mike and will cherish it. He will be missed and thought of often and fondly. He always had my back and that is completely unforgettable. The mark that he put on this world will be there for a long time to come through those who knew him, learned from him or just had the pleasure to meet him.

Everyone was always Mike's "Favorite" and he greeted you with a smile and a hand shake. His big personality in the office is greatly missed. Mike beamed when he talked about his wife and children and spending time with family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What I learned from Mike Cunningham - enjoy every day, even when you are working, and don't take yourself or anyone else too seriously. Even when he was really stressed, he ALWAYS took the time to smile, make a wisecrack, and build a connection with people. He was one-of-a-kind and he will never be forgotten. I use his sayings everyday. My favorite was "I know, I know, it's not gonna work, but hey, let's do it anyway."
What a kind soul. I know he loved his family passionately and he was so very proud of both of his kids. Everyone he worked with knew it, because he talked about Cole and Cameron all the time and you could just see his face light up when he did. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Mike touched a lot of us in his very unique, personable way. I'll miss having him greet me, smiling with a handshake and 'hey, nice lady'..... Some people you work with, you just work with, but Mike, you enjoyed. He will be truly missed.
