I was so sorry to hear about Mikey. Even though I hadn´t seen the boy in many years, l still thought about him often enough. We were roommates in San Diego in the late 1970s. I was living out there when Mikey came out with Jay Merrick and Tony Avampato. I had never met Mikey before, but had played football at Immaculate with his older brother Ralph. Anyway, Mikey and I became fast friends. We worked some construction jobs together, played a lot of hoop and took a few trips north to party with friends in Redondo Beach, LA on his Honda 400-4. We would see Ralph, who was in the navy, when his ship was in San Diego.
By the mid 1980s we were both back in CT, and saw each other from time to time for a while before losing touch. It really hurts to know he´s gone. I have nothing but the best memories of our times in CA: two sharp, funny, good-looking guys from the east coast, in their early 20´s, having a go at life in Southern California in the 1970s, no holds barred. RIP, my kind, thoughtful, fun-loving old friend.

Dear Denise, my thoughts and prayers are with Mikey, you, Jackie, and your Dad. Mikey was such a kind soul... just a real nice guy. He always had a smile whenever I ran into him. He would even make me laugh... so good natured. I was so sad to hear he passed. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Everlasting Peace Mikey
