Michael Joseph Decasper

I worked on one movie a long time ago with Michael and Amy and always remembered him as a great person and was sad to learn of his death. All of my best to his friends and family.

I was deeply saddened to here that our industry lost such a great guy, who loved his craft and who touched everyone's heart with a smile, kindness, and grace.

I just heard this past week about Mike and was deeply saddened by the news. He and I had worked together over the course of 10 years in NY. I had not seen him since I moved on in 1995.

He was always a good guy and I'll never forget his friendship to me on the job and the good times.

God Bless ya, Mike. I'll never forget you.

I did not know Michael but his father is my pastor and if he was anything like his father Sam Decasper I know he was a good man.

Mike and I had a relationship that many may not know. 34 years ago our parents married when we were pre-teens. Over the years we shared the usual good and bad times, but through it all we respected each others ideals and dreams. Over the years we drifted apart, but our parents kept us up to date.

Mike loved his family, friends and his work. He left a lasting impression with everyone he touched. Those times and ideals will never be forgotten.

My brother, you will be deeply missed and I will never forget our times together. Go rest high on that mountain.

I came to know Michael on a film in Maryland as one of the funniest and best natured people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I was impressed by his never ending ability to make light of a stressful situation and keep things in perspective. Simply put, I had a lot of laughs and learned a lot working with Michael and have tried to carry his style forward in my life and career. I'll never forget the famous golf cart ride thru the cornfields. My deepest sympathies to Amy and family members.

Michael DeCasper was many things to many people. He was the “Apple” of his mother’s eye and a loving son to Dennis. He was more than a brother to his little sister, Mary; he was her guardian and best friend. They shared a bond that was and is truly unique in the sibling world. He was Amy’s best friend, companion and confidant. He was son, brother, husband, brother-in-law, friend, professional, warrior and much more. His life was truly blessed and he has blessed those that had the opportunity to know him. He fought his final battle with courage, determination and strength and he was an inspiration to those around him. His parent’s gave him roots and a foundation to grow into the man he became and now they give him his wings. His spirit lives on in all those whom he has touched throughout the years. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him but his smile and spirit will live on. Every day is a gift!

Gone so young, You will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of meeting you.
