Michael Donawho Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2025.
Michael Lane Donawho, passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital on July 12, 2025 in Tyler, TX at the age of 57.

Mike is survived by wife, Beverly Donawho of Elmo, Tx, daughter Brittany & Dan Scheid of Maypearl, TX, daughter Lacie & Ryan Smith of Midlothian, TX, daughter Janine and Jimmy Carpenter of Carrollton, TX, grandchildren Blaze, Jaxson, and Emma Scheid of Maypearl, TX, grandchildren Lila, Luke, Olivia, and Grandbaby boy Smith of Midlothian, TX, and his animal children: 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 horses, and his beloved donkey Nettie. He is also survived by innumerable friends and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by parents Linda (Blythe) & Stanley Donawho of Scurry, TX, many aunts and uncles, and his beloved grandparents.

Mike was born on December 18,1967 in Ft. Worth, TX to Linda and Stanley Donawho. He graduated from Paramedic school in 2017, which was a lifelong dream of his. He married Bev at 10:11am on 12/13/14 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mike could start a conversation anywhere with anyone. He never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back.

He had three daughters, Brittany, Lacie, and Janine. His children remember him as a driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Brittany shared a love of creating and crafting with her dad, while Lacie and Mike shared passions for cooking and playing board games. The girls love to remember one night in the early 2000s when they played monopoly. The game was cut-throat with hidden money, secret allies, and homemade "Free Rent" papers and lasted 7 hours.

Mike was an accomplished computer programmer and built his first computer before it was normal for people to have them in their homes. He was filled with curiosity and a love of learning new skills. Over the years, Mike was a racecar driver, a firefighter, paramedic, licensed wedding officiant and DJ, leather worker, wood worker, truck driver, and he enjoyed learning new recipes and cooking, and keeping up with all the new tech that came out over the years. He was a follower of Jesus and a member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael Donawho Memorial Fund at Lakepointe Church - Rockwall for the Special Needs Ministry under the General Fund "Ministries" via www.lakepointe.church.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel 642 N. Rockwall Ave. Terrell, TX 75160
