I met Mike & Janet at city college. The 3 of us had a few classes in swimming there. We also went to CK Mcclatchy High school .
I would frequently run into him at the "0ld" Raley´s & he was a joy to talk with . I´ll miss him ...he always respected
many peers and had people person demeanor.

Our families were friends waaay back in the 50's, when life was more simple and down-to-earth. We did lots of "laughin-n-scratchin" together back then. I will always treasure those days and the Dutcher family for being a big part of it. My sympathy to the family and close friends of Mike.

I used to bump into Mike at Raley's from time to time. Always glad to see me, always jovial. A great loss.

Mike was a very special person who I was privileged to call my friend. I liked and admired him for his depth and sincerity. The more you got to know Mike the more you realized how much more there was to know.
Although Mike and I were classmates at McClatchy, we became friends while taking a creative writing class at Sacramento City College.
Last summer, we and long-time mutual friend, Brann Thomas, had a hilarious time at a Chinese restaurant on Broadway and when we cruised our old Land Park haunts. Our reminiscences seemed to erase the many years since our youth, and our laughter made us feel the way we used to feel, if only for a few hours. I wouldn't give anything for those few hours.
I will always miss you, Mike. My condolences go out to Janet and family.
