I first met Mike in 1999. I was working for local radio station in San Diego and called on Xtermite to see if they would be interested in advertising on my radio station. Who knew that an ad for termites would lead me to a lifelong new friend. I knew at that first meeting that he was a special person. He had a genuine smile and a laugh that was sincere and infectious. We instantly connected and became the best of friends in a very short time. Mike was the kindest, friendliest, and big-hearted person that I have ever known. Once when my family took a trip to Orlando, Mike had sent in advance to our hotel fishing poles, kites and other toys for the kids to enjoy. We also brought home a new puppy years ago, and on our doorstep was a package from Mike. In it were dog toys, dog bowls, leashes and everything you could think of to take care of a dog. Wow, what a heart this guy had. Mike and his wife Anna invited me to become a board member of their company XT2000. Mike and I traveled the country together, making presentations to Pest Control operators on the benefits of using his XT2000 orange oil to treat for drywood termite. We had a blast and needless to say I learned a lot about termites and I learned a lot about Mike. He grew up in Santa Cruz California and began working at a very young age. He sold newspapers as a kid, earned every penny. Was never given a thing and his work ethic grew from there. He became a sailor in the Navy and became a father and grandfather. He and Anna built two successful companies, but more importantly he built friendships. If you were lucky enough to have known him, or spent time with him you surely were in the presence of a wonderful human being. He raised the bar for me to how to live your life. How to listen. How to laugh. And how to make a difference in the world. What a great loss but I am so thankful that he was a part of my life.

In deed he was a great man, he will be missed dearly. He sure was the Godfather of the termite industry. He showed me everything I know.
May he rest in peace....never forget...
Dearest condolences from the Santa Cruz family
