Michael Fura Obituary
From an early age Mike exhibited an exceptional musical talent on the piano, winning numerous awards and performing on television at 12 years old. He went on to earn a degree in music from both Boston Conservatory and Berklee School of Music.
He taught at Bartlett High School and Oxford High School and was an inspiration to thousands of students. Many to this day can still remember the some of the musicals he put on! Those he did not teach heard him perform at numerous local venues such as The Banjo Pub, The French River Saloon and the Salem Cross Inn to name a few.
Mike was a showman first and foremost and loved nothing more than putting on a performance for an audience. He even kept an accordion in his car for spontaneous performances and wasted no opportunity to pull it out at every chance he got, entertaining in restaurants, street corners or at stop lights. He was a character and an entertainer and once you saw a Mike Fura show you never forgot it. He will always be remembered by his many students and audiences around the world. His children would like to hope that wherever Mike is, he has an audience large enough to entertain for eternity!

I just came to a restaurant called "Blueberry Hill". I have eternally linked this son to Mike Fura. He was a wonderful, gregarious man with whom I worked at Duke of York Pub in Auburn, MA. I had been best friends with his wife, Mary Dugas Fura in grade school. I mourn his loss and will attempt to keep his energy flowing through me. RIP.

I'm not sure what compelled me to look for Mike's obituary after all this time. I looked for a tribute to him upon learning of his passing - even though we learned of his passing quite a bit after it happened. Sad, to say the least.
Mike always seemed like a complicated man, but a good man. He was a people pleaser, at least in my view. He delivered a beautiful eulogy at my father's funeral and did so much to try to help him when he was ill with pancreatic cancer. He was a friend to my mom, a friend to my family. He attended my wedding, always extended kind words of encouragement for our business, and was a man of many talents. We wish we were told when he passed, we would have paid proper respect to him at the time. But he hasn't been forgotten by our family.
Rest easy, Mike Fura. We will continue to remember you and your kindness.

Mike Fura was my first cousin. AALTHOUGH I HAVENT SEEN HIM FOR YEARS, I DID THUBK OF HIM OFYEN. I REMEMBER ATTENING HIS DADS FUNERAL AND BECAUSE HIS FATGER LOVED VIOLINS HE HAD A VIOLINIST PLAY IN THE Chapel....it was beautiful. MIKE ALSO PLAYED AT MY WEDDING.
