MICHAEL GANGONE Obituary
Unexpectedly, on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Beloved son of Louis and Catherine (Kinzler) Gangone; brother of Danielle Gangone (Tyler Strohmeyer); grandson of Julia Gangone; also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sergeant Gangone, a decorated U.S. Army Veteran, served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in the 17th Military Police Detachment, 4th Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 171st Infantry Brigade. He went on to work as a contractor for The U.S. Department of State in Iraq and Afghanistan. Michael was an active person who enjoyed working out and running, and had a love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Family and Friends are welcome Monday, November 6, 2017, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. Interment at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Donations may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Carnegie.

Dear Lou, Cathy and Danielle,
I have not forgotten the pain that I experienced last August with the passing of my son, Brian. I am sure that you all doing the same. I write him a simple love letter everyday. My bittersweet memories are treasures to me.

Lou, Cathy and family,
Kathy and I just learned of your son, Michael's passing a few days ago from Vera. We're in FL at present or we would certainly have been at the viewing. Our hearts go out to both of you and your family at this most trying time. Know that you are in our prayers. May God console both of you in your grief.

Dear Lou, Cathy & Danielle - No words can ease your grief at this huge loss. We remember Mike as a happy young man when he was in Scouts. Our prayer for him is that he is resting in the arms of Jesus, free from all earthly cares. Our prayers for you are that God will comfort you. God bless you all.

So sorry to hear the news. Was on business traveling just got in this morning. Can remember Mike from many years back as a young boy in scouting. Lou, Cathy and Danielle,
I am praying the our Lord wraps his arms around this family to comfort you in this very painful time. I don't know of any words that could describe the emotions and feelings that you all are enduring. I just know how I felt when Brian passed in August. I feel your pain.
It was such a pleasure to have known Danielle for such a very short time. I loved the fact that she was Brian's girlfriend in high school. She is not only beautiful on the outside, but beautiful and kind on the inside. That is what makes her such a special person.
If you ever feel the need to talk to someone that has experienced the same depth of pain during this period of loss, you are more than welcome to contact me.
I am keeping your family in my prayers. I hope that Danielle goes on to give you many grandchildren.
