Michael Giannini Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 5, 2015.
MICHAEL DAVID GIANNINI Born on October 23, 1981, in Half Moon Bay, Mike died unexpectedly at home on November 24, 2015. Mike attended and graduated from Half Moon Bay High, where he excelled at baseball and wrestling and was a member of FFA. He loved farming, leather and woodworking, snowboarding in Tahoe, and wake-boarding in the summer. He was a founding member of the Badland Boys. More than any of those, he loved rodeo and team roping. Mike was a volunteer firefighter for the HMB Fire Department and worked after school for the San Mateo County road crew and as an EMT. In 2006, he found his dream job as a rancher for TomKat Ranch in Pescadero, where he supervised and progressed the cattle for Left Coast Grass-Fed. It was at TomKat Ranch on August 11, 2007, that he married Jenni Bruno; together since high school, they shared a fairy-tale romance of love, support, and togetherness. Mike always had a way with animals, and he and Jenni cared for their collection of horses, dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and "Lambie" and "Chuckie." Mike was an enthusiastic member of ACTRA, team roping on his horses Marlo and Biscuit. Mike was also a talented and insightful photographer, and developed a portfolio of Country Photography to chronicle life on the ranch and on the Coast. A friend wrote, "Mike's smile and love of his life is legendary to all who had the privilege to know him." Beloved nephew of Robert Canadas and brother of Chris Giannini and wife Ashley, Mike is also survived by his mother Hope Firenze and aunt Gail Firenze, grandfather Al Firenze, and by his father Richard Giannini and wife Sindey, and grandparents Eileen and Angelo Giannini. One of Mike's greatest joys were his twin nephews Lane and Cole Giannini, age 6. Loved by all, Mike will be forever in their hearts, but no more than in the heart of his wife Jenni, who survives him. Called "the modern cowboy" and "the most genuine person you'll ever know," a Celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday December 19,2015, at the IDES Hall on Main Street in Hall Moon Bay from 2PM until 6PM. All his friends are welcome. A scholarship will be established in Mike's name for the Half Moon Bay chapter of FFA: in lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Mike Giannini FFA Scholarship Fund, c/o PO Box 430, Moss Beach, CA 94038.

What a shock. I will always remember Mike as a wonderful, smiling and helpful man. He had a calmness about him that was very special. My horse just relaxed with Mike. So did I.
