Michael A. Godfrey

Michael Andrew Godfrey, 62, of Spring, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2023. He was born on September 29, 1961, in Houston, Texas. Michael, known to his loved ones as Mike, was a one-of-a-kind individual who had a magnetic personality and an exceptional sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and never forgot a face. Mike was always ready with the best and funniest stories, making everyone around him laugh and leaving them captivated for hours. He loved listening to great music and could name the year, make and model of any car he passed. Mike had a heart of gold and always ensured that others were taken care of above himself, and making friends feel like family was what he did best. Above all, Mike cherished his roles as a husband, dad, and Pepaw the most, finding immense joy in spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Mizell Godfrey, his daughter Taylor Beaudoin and son-in-law Chad Beaudoin, his son Reed Godfrey and daughter-in-law Caitlyn Godfrey, his granddaughter Ava Beaudoin, grandsons Cullin Beaudoin and Reese Godfrey, his father Bobby Godfrey, his mother Bonnie Godfrey, his brother Glenn Godfrey and sister-in-law Jeannie Godfrey, his niece Karley Myers, and her husband Josh Myers, his nephew Grant Godfrey, his great-niece Emerie Myers and great-nephew Bennett Myers. He is also survived by many other beloved surviving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Keith Godfrey, maternal grandfather Ashley Daniels, maternal grandmother Vida Daniels, paternal grandfather Robert Godfrey, paternal grandmother Joyce Godfrey, and his uncle Ashley "Unk" Daniels, mother-in-law Patricia Mizell and father-in-law Buford Mizell.

Michael attended Northshore High School and graduated in 1979. He valued education and believed in the power of knowledge, always having a book to recommend or lend to a friend.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Michael A. Godfrey will be held in the Spring of 2024 and will be announced via social media at a later date.
