MICHAEL SYDNEY GOETZ

Michael S. (Mike) Goetz of Philadelphia, passed away January 14, 2021 at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Philadelphia and preceded in death by his father Michael B. Goetz, his mother Katherine Perelman, and his brother David Perelman. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years, Helen; his sons Michael V. (Debbie) Goetz and David (Lisa) Goetz; his daughter Marcie (PJ) Waldron; his grandchildren Jessica (Marie) Waldron, Andrew (Erica) Waldron, Sarah (Kevin) Pregent, Julia, Joshua, Rachel, Brian, Rebecca and Steven Goetz; great-grandchildren Maisie and Jacob; brother Victor Goetz and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mike was a Wharton graduate, who spent his career in sales (selling up until the age of 90). He was a super Philadelphia sports fan (4 for 4) and was the family's chief "Philly Phanatic". Mike will be remembered by all who knew him as authentic, kind and caring. He loved people unconditionally, was passionate about his family and was his happiest when celebrating family milestones. Funeral arrangements were private. A celebration of Mike's life will take place at a later date. Mike's family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care of the physicians and nurses at Abington Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory will be appreciated to Phillies Charities or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
