My first pattern contest was in Latta, SC where Kirk used to practice. He was the R/C pilot that I always dreamed of being one day. Kirk you will forever be missed but never forgotten. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

WOW, what a loss!!! Kirk was a very generous, humble, and well liked person. My condolences to your family. Although I only had a short association with Kirk through model airplanes over about 4 years, he made you feel like you were his friend for many years. I would watch him fly and you could see his passion. And that smile, you could see it everytime you looked at him. I am sure that when I say he was a mentor in many ways and will be missed, I am not alone.

Oh to be back on Crestwood Dr as kids again . . . I was sorry to hear of Kirk's passing. I had just recently seen Kirk after 20 or more years since I moved from Crestwood Dr and had the chance to talk about old times. We had such great times. Please continue to remember all the good times and thank GOD for you time with Kirk.

Mr. and Misses Gray. I am so sorry about Kirk. He was one of the best friends I ever had. I will miss him so much. I learned so much from him about flying and spent many hours with him enjoying life. He was full of life and I don't think he ever met anyone he couldn't call friend.

To all the Gray family;
Just to let you know I too will miss Kirk. I remember many days at our club field with Kirk practicing, helping others, and being just a generally good guy. Even on days when weather precluded flying just talking with him was always educational and fun. High flight Kirk.

Kirk,
Thank you for the most wonderful boys that anyone could ever have. I think of you every time I look at them. They are both so much like you in many ways. They love you and miss you so much. Life will never be the same again. I will miss your calls to check on them and the way you were the only person in the world that called me Cindy Lynn all the time. You will forever be in our hearts. Brandon and Jason will always be taken care of and I know they will think of you every day and every milestone in there life. You will be there with us along the way in our hearts and mind. Know that we love you and miss you. Always.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Gray,
I knew your son, Kirk and I am so sorry for your loss. I met Kirk through Barry. He was sweet, kind man and would call just to see if our family was doing well. When we lived in Florence, not a week would go by, when he and Barry weren't together. I will always love him for lending us a hand with my nephew and will always be grateful for the talk he gave him, it helped set my nephew straight. He touched our lives in so many ways, and I will miss him so.
All of you have been in our thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Shirley & Mr. Wilda,
I just want to tell ya'll how truely shocked and so sorry I am to hear about Kirk. You all know how I felt about him and how deeply I loved him. Kirk was one of a kind and I will definitely miss my best friend. Always know that ya'll are in my heart, my thoughts and that I will always love you. Kirk excelled in everything that he did and made it look almost effortlessly; life, flying, fishing, hunting, and most of all, friendship. To know him was to know a true friend, my best friend. There are too many memories to share. He was always smiling and joking and laughing that crazy laugh.
Brandon and Jason; your father taught you well and I know that you will always remember him and be proud.
Andrea you are a very special person to me and I thank you.
Kirk, my friend, we still have one more round to fly. The contest isn't over yet. Kirk, remember that "the boys are back in town". I'll put a dip in, call for you, and wait for you to land. Later my friend, and remember; Be easy on the sticks.

Kirk was my friend. He was someone I enjoyed spending time with and had talent I respected very much. I have very fond memories of time spent at flying competitions, and of the two of us making it together into the "runway shot" , as Kirk put it, at the TOC. I'll never forget the smiles, million laughs, great flying and good times.
I will miss you.

Kathy and I are so sorry to hear about Kirk's death. We just heard last night and our hearts are heavy for him and the family. We have special memories with Kirk and Wilda flying our pattern planes at contests and events we attended together. The videos I have of them are precious to say the least. He was indeed a champion flyer. I just wish we could have lived closer so we could have spent more time together. I believe we could have done some special accomplishments together if we had been given the chance. It was just not to be. We will surely miss him. I am glad I have pictures of us together doing what we loved so much, flying aerobatics. His picture(s) will always have a special place of honor in my shop and home. Godspeed to all his family.

I first met Kirk back in '89 at a model airplane competition. He was a quiet person, but very friendly and always helpful. We would sometimes get together to practice and give pointers to each other. I can say without reservation that I would never have achieved the level of proficiency that I did had it not been for him, not only for the help that he gave, but also because he always raised the bar that everyone had to aim for. And I think most people that knew him would also say that the level of model airplane competition in NC/SC increased because of his presence. I considered him to be a dear friend. He will be missed.

Mr & Mrs Gray,
Brandon & Jason,
We had the pleasure of having Kirk and his two sons to share a part of their life with our family. He was a very fine young man who will be missed greatly but remembered fondly by all of us. Kirk was a very special friend of our daughter, Andrea, and he showed his love to Alijah and Abigial as if they were a part of his own family. Brandon and Jason are two fine sons who will proudly carry on their Father's legacy. We were proud to have Kirk as a Friend and we share in your loss of a great Son and Father. Our Family's prayers are with you.
