My most fond memories of were him as my cousin and borrowed brother when I was living with his family as a child during my mother's infirmities, and since I had no brothers of my own, Mike, Larry, and Jack gave me a feeling of living a normal life which I would not have known if not for them. I'm sorry for how life and circumstances caused separation between us but I am looking forward to being reunited in a place called Heaven. Until then, I can wait with anticipation of a glorious day.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Harkins. He was a doctor that was truly involved in the lives and well being of his patients. He was my dad's cardiologist for many years. I remember taking my dad to his last visit with Dr. Harkins. He was so kind and compassionate and knew that there was nothing more that could help dad. Dr. Harkins picked my dad up from the wheelchair to put him on the examining table. My dad, being the character that he was said, "Michael, you are giving me the royal treatment, what does that mean?" They both just chuckled. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. His kindness will never be forgotten.

Fondly remembered for his genuineness, in both his manner and response to those he knew. A true loss to both the medical community, his patients and his friends. May he Rest In Peace with the knowledge of a live well lived.

Dr Hawkins was my cardiologist for many years. What a fine and remarkable man with whom I had many political and travel conversations. I was sad when he retired and even more saddened by his passing. God Bless his family.
