I have just come upon Michaels obituary. I am sorry to hear of his passing. I knew Michael in Toronto in the 1970s through our mutual friend Ed Burke. Sincere condolences to Philippa and all of Michaels loved ones. RIP and God Bless.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I only had the privilege of meeting Mr Harries one time in 1980. I can tell you that his daughter Philippa loved and adored her father with everything that she had. I am certain that has never changed. May God's peace continue to be with his entire family may he hold all of you closely and dearly to him. May you find peace and comfort in His love for you.

Just heard the news...(11/23/15) a real GENT with a super sense of humour ...

Thank you Michael.
My first impressions: charming, elegant, debonair, generous, well-dressed, as he hosted family and friends at an upscale restaurant (on Atwater?) back in 1968. I had arrived in Canada days before. Michael's father and mine were friends in the UK. But no real reason to host me, just off the boat, but my first step in getting to know his family who effectively adopted me during my first years in Canada. For that I'm eternally grateful.

I could not have foretold then what followed: the introduction to Michael's outrageously fast (and expensive) cars, his racing career at Mont Tremblant, (I still have his Elva Courier), his elegant yacht, the railcar.

Then there was the family home in Senneville, with it the mayhem, the visitors, the visiting fast cars, the dogs, the ever-growing children, the tree housewith Michael an observer and participant, quietly proud, and perhaps always quintessentially English.

I think we can all be honoured to have known him, for his decency, for his life lived. And to his family, through whom Michael lives on, love to you all. And thank you Michael.

I will always remember Michael's wonderful sense of humour, his charm, his kindness to both Adina & myself & the special times when we shared each others life. Jo, Phar, David thank you for allowing me to be part of your special family. Michael will always be a special part of my memories (teddy bears picnic - & a bee under the pillory!). Love Gill
