Michael Hester Obituary
Michael Edward Hester passed away on Dec. 22, 2010 in Chico, CA, at the age of 43. Mike was born September 2, 1967 in San Diego, CA.
Mike grew up in Southern California and had a natural attraction to the ocean. He spent many of his younger years in Santa Barbara, where he developed life-long cherised friendships at San Marcos High. In 1985, he moved to Chico and broadened his friendships, and over the years always enjoyed making it back to Santa Barbara. Mike developed his skills in painting houses and his work was appreciated by many.
Mike is survived by his mother, Suzanne; father, Frank; brother, Mathew; step-mother, Darlene Hester; step-brothers, Craig and Daniel Smith; step-sister, Karen Smith-Hubbard; nephews, Tanner Malone, Giovanni Hester, Tye Hubbard, Sara Hubbard; aunts and cousins of the Taylor family; girlfriend, Robin Smith; Robin's son, Zachary Wallace, and beloved son, Nathaniel Michael Smith.
He is preceded in death by his brother, David John Hester.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Casa Ramos restaurant (2490 Fair Street).
Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society.

I hadn't seen Mike in many many years but we were quite good friends back in Chico in the 1980's. I'm saddened by his passing and wish I would have kept in touch with him throughout the years after I moved away. I'll always remember the great times we had running around in the VW bug he used to have and when we worked together at Cozy Diner. RIP my friend. Gone but not forgotten.

My heart truly goes out to his family and loved ones. Mike was one of my dearest friends when i was young and i recall all the great times we had, he had showed me all the magaizines from GQ he had modeled in was just a real sweetheart. I am deeply saddened to hear this, my heart aches for the lost of a long time sweet friend.
