I´m sitting here in my living room at 11:36 PM on Sunday 12/8/24 watching re-runs of Mary Tyler Moore I just watched the episode with Michael in it playing Murray Slaughter´s son. I was sad to see when I looked him up that he had passed 10 years ago. I just wanted to send my condolences.

I have the cd of music from our days of high school past that you created: volumes I & II. I think of you everything I see it and more so when I play it in the car. May you rest in greater piece than those last few years you were so ill.

so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I only knew him a little bit in high school but he was nice. Remember him playing football and hanging out with his friends. Always seemed to be having a good time. God speed on this eternal journey.

We planned BHIS 50 year 6th grade reunion and shared old stories (you have an incredible memory - yikes!) but the best part was becoming acquainted and reacquainted this past year with you. I forgive you for hating Cougs! ~ Victoria Lum

Michael was a true gentleman. He will be missed. I grew up on Beacon Hill with him. It was fun seeing him at 50th Elementary reunion last year My condolences to his family.

To one of my best high school buddies. I will miss you Mike. We had a lot of great times way back then. Mike was one of the really good guys. Chris and I wish we had more time together with you.

It's hard to put into words what Mike was to me as a long time friend. He was one of the first guys I knew in the neighborhood and we hung out in high school. Kept in touch at Boeing through e-mail and kicked it when we saw each other at the Bon Odori. I'm gonna miss him man. Warren, Janette and the rest of the Higa family, our thoughts and prayers are for you and your extended families at this most difficult time.

Mike was one of the nicest, friendliest guys at Cleveland even to a not so popular girl. I will remember him fondly. Condolences to his family.

We are so sorry to hear about Mike. We both were so thrilled to see him at our high school and grade school reunions. He'll always be on our list as one of the good guys!

Mike was the first guy I met in School. We used to talk in the kindergarten line before going in at Bailey Gatzert. After the 1st grade , I don't remember seeing him again until high school at Cleveland. I don't think we realized that we had met in kindergarten until Mike looked at me after football practice and said "Marv, you went to Gatzert didn't you?" We both laughed , when we realized that we went to kindergarten together.

Mike and I became friends at Cleveland High and we always had a fun time working on the High School newspaper together. I was saddened to hear that he was ill at our 40th Cleveland High Reunion and we had a nice talk and reminisced about our times at the UW. My thoughts and prayer are with the Higa family. Mike was a great person.

So Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I will miss my friend and all of our discussions about local sports and the Boeing Company.

Warren and family, I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I grew up on Beacon Hill and went
to school with him. He will be missed....

I remember growing up around the corner from Mike, Janette and Warren. Those were truly the good ole days.

My thoughts are with your entire family and am so glad I got to see Mike last summer at the reunion - it had been too many years.

This is a great photo of Mike and the way I will always remember him. I worked with Mike at Boeing and he became a dear friend to me. I will always remember Mike as being up to some sort of mischief. He was straightforward, loyal and although he tried to be as "crusty" as possible, he was a sweetheart! I will miss my weekly phone calls from him and I will remember my friend forever! Condolences to Mike"s family.

Warren, Janette and family - I am saddened by the passing of my long time friend. Thankfully I have had the opportunity over the years to spend so much time with Mike going down memory lane as well as working with him for a long period of time at Boeing. Lunches and dinners with our old posse will never be the same. My prayers and sympathy go out to the Higa family who I have had the pleasure of being friends with for so many years. God bless you Mike - you were one of a kind and thank you for the years of laughter and friendship - you will be thought of often.
