To Patty and family: I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's sudden passing after just learning about it to-day - Tuesday, Jan 26 16. I last spoke to Mike on Dec 23 2015 as he called me from the Calgary airport and was on his way to spend Christmas with his son and family. Mike was his usual self with his upbeat market commentary and observations.I have fond memories of Mike's companionship as our path's crossed many times at several investment firms or at chance meetings walking around Scotia Square and surrounding area during the business day. Mike was always ready for an informed discussion on equities and the market. Mike often expressed his affection for and how proud he was of his family - Patty, son Chris and grandchildren. My sincere condolences to them. Mike - many pleasant memories of your energy and business exuberance and our discussion on such and the industry. Much peace and harmony my friend. I tried to arrange flights but would not have made it in time to attend the ceremonies. Allan arranged flowers on my behalf, that's all I could do. I send you my condolences online now. Mike was a solid rock. I cannot imagine what it must be like for you to have to miss him all of a sudden. He was such a good friend to me.
